Theory of Everything: Earth’s Deep Oceans

Scientists have just discovered vast quantities of water under the earth’s surface, forming a water cycle with the earth’s oceans.  This opens a real possibiltiy for the credence of the historic worldwide flood, as told in the Bible, where “fountains of the deep” opened up and flooded the earth’s surface (Gen 7:11).  I posted the possibility of the Hydroplate Theory related to the fountains of the deep from Dr Walt Brown in my Theory of Everything.  The Hydroplate theory asserts that before the Flood, approximately 50% of the water in present oceans was contained in underground reservoirs, a huge underground body of water about 10 miles under the surface. One huge supercontinent would have covered the surface of the Earth, including some small mountains and small oceans

The fascinating four minute video to his theory is linked here:  Fountains of the Great Deep – Hydroplate Theory – Dr. Walt Brown

It seems that mainstream science is just catching up with historical accounts and even man’s imagination.  Published in 2008, Flood is the work of hard science fiction by English author Stephen Baxter. It describes a near future world where deep submarine seismic activity leads to seabed fragmentation, and the opening of deep subterranean reservoirs of water. Human civilisation is almost destroyed by the rising inundation, which covers Mount Everest in 2052. Baxter issued a sequel to this work, entitled Ark, in 2009.

And the new movie Noah has the water spewing right up from the ground……

Of historical interest, a recently deciphered 4,000-year-old clay tablet from ancient Mesopotamia — modern-day Iraq — reveals striking new details about a very similar tale to the Old Testament tale of Noah and the flood. It tells a similar story, complete with detailed instructions for building a giant round vessel known as a coracle — as well as the key instruction that animals should enter “two by two.”
The tablet went on display in the British Museum recently, and soon engineers will follow the ancient instructions to see whether the vessel could possibly have sailed.
It’s the subject of a new book, “The Ark Before Noah,” by Irving Finkel, the museum’s assistant keeper of the Middle East and the man who translated the tablet.

Thanks to  Ken Ham’s creation debate  with Bill Nye,  (http://debatelive.org/)  the Creation Museum has received the 50 million dollar funding needed to build the Biblical ark, as detailed in the Bible.  Soon a real size equivalent to the Biblical structure will be revealed to anyone interested in visiting the museum.

This is an except from CBC news on the discovery of the diamond:

By Emily Chung, CBC News Posted: Mar 12, 2014 2:00 PM ET

A dirty, $10 diamond with a prize inside has helped reveal that there are vast quantities of water stored deep inside the Earth.

The diamond formed in the “transition zone” around 410 to 660 kilometres below our planet’s surface. Analysis of a mineral grain trapped inside it suggests that it came from surroundings that were about one per cent water, report researchers led by University of Alberta geochemist Graham Pearson. They published their  findings online in the journal Nature today.

If the sample is representative of that part of the deep Earth, the amount of water there could be “about the same as the mass of all the world’s oceans combined,” wrote Hans Keppler, a geophysicist at the University of Bayreuth in Germany, in an analysis article.

That, in turn, changes our understanding of the way water cycles through our planet, and has implications for the way tectonic plates and volcanoes behave, Pearson notes.

  1. Wow, incredible! That explains why King David was said to be able to call up the waters from the deep under Mt. Zion for the Water-Drawing Celebration that occurs in the fall, after seven months of no rain. It is said that if he raised his arms just enough, the Water would come up to the edge of the well, but if he raised his arms too much it would come rushing out in a flood! The waters of the Deep took their direction from him. He was one powerful guy.

Building the Ark and the Mishkan (Tabernacle) would be easy-peasy as long as the project manager paid attention to the commentaries, which explain a lot of stuff we no longer have, and what is things like gopher-wood and Shittim wood and the like. Otherwise, the blueprint is right there in the pages.
Great post, drugs kicking in, love, bye

  2. Wow!! You really did your research on this. I found your post fascinating and such a great affirmation of the truth of the Bible. I love Ken Ham. His video talks are amazing!!

  3. With all that water available it would be great if some could be brought to the surface for arid parts of Africa, Asia, and even Nevada. !!!! Maybe Egypt could have the lush areas it was once supposed to have had where the Sphinx’s sit. There could be enough food to feed the starving and all the fundamentalists would lose recruits because they would no longer be able to talk about the West having everything.

  4. thank you for sharing this with the wide wordpress audience. my first exposure to this came when i read a portion of scripture that spoke of this, then started my trail of “research” to understand the whole process. it proves once again that God is a whole lot more intelligent than “mankind” could ever imagine.

    • Reading his article was a Sentinel moment for me. I have always believed that there must be large amounts of water under the earth’s crust for the Biblical account to be true, and now that they have found it I feel like it really affirms my faith in the accuracy of the science of the Bible.

  5. Excellent research and article! AND CBC TOO! Canadians know .. stuff!

I'm interested in your thoughts and ideas!
